Four young girls in a dance studio, performing backbend stretches with a pink filter overlay, text saying 'Welcome to Classes' at the bottom.

HERE’S WHAT TO EXPECT:

First-Day Jitters ARE Totally Normal!

Starting something new can feel a little scary and that’s okay! If your child seems unsure, feel free to peek through the door and give them an encouraging thumbs up. Most kids warm up quickly once they see the fun happening inside!

Leotards or Biketards: Fitted gym attire helps your child move freely and safely.

  1. No Baggy Clothes: Loose clothing can get in the way of skills and equipment.

  2. Hair Up, Please: A neat ponytail or headband (if hair can’t go into a ponytail)..

Drawing of two bare feet with the text 'Bare feet, please' above it.
An illustrated image of a woman and a man peeking from behind a white vertical panel with the text "Take a Step Back" at the top.

We go barefoot in class to ensure safety and better grip on equipment.
Make sure your child’s feet are clean before heading to the mat. It keeps things hygienic for everyone!

Did you know that children often perform better and gain more confidence when parents allow them space to explore independently? Research in developmental psychology supports this, showing that kids are more likely to focus and feel self-assured when given room to problem-solve and learn on their own (Grolnick, 2015).
I encourage parents to peek through here and there.
Parent-N-Tot classes are the exception: your participation is key, so jump in and enjoy!

COACH STEF’S SPACE IS all about creating a positive and respectful environment where every child can thrive. Here are our top behavior guidelines:

  • Positive Attitudes Only: A smile goes a long way in boosting confidence!

  • Follow the Rules: We use a gentle “Think About It Bench” for moments when kids need a breather. If disruptions persist, they might take a quick hallway break with you.

  • Be Punctual: Arriving a few minutes early sets the tone for a great class.
